This is available in two formats

Option 1: 4 individual separate sessions over a period of 4 weeks (Intense Format). The first class is one full day in-person with three following sessions. 

Option 2: 6 individual separate sessions over a period of 6 weeks. The first and last class are in-person and the 4 classes in between are over Zoom. 

  • To receive a certificate, you will be required to have a camera on and running during zoom classes and be present on camera the entire time.  

Standard 6 Day or 4 session Course

Module 1: Sharpen Who Your Best Customers Are 

This kick-off session will be in person. This will be an engaging start to the 6 series Digital Marketing Certificate program. Small business owners need a ground game and a web game. This training includes both. To gain the greatest success in Digital Marketing and Social media, you must start by answering the question: What is your unique offering? Who is the best person that needs your product or services?  What is your competition? This training will help you sharpen your perspective on those topics with other small business owners on your same journey to support you. This is a participatory class, so come ready to move your business forward! Topics covered will include:

  • Your core message brand and customer persona (Yours Only)
  • Customer persona – Who are we speaking to (Customer)
  • Learn from your competition online (Market Research)
  • Relationship Marketing – Building referrals off the first customers (the ground game)

Module 2: The Content Online That Attracts Your Best Customer 

2 hr course held either online or in the 1st day afternoon. Web meeting or in-person. Understanding and being able to consistently create as well as distribute the right content to support the growth of your business is key. With the limited time and multiple hats that a business owner has to wear, it is critical they attract the customers they can serve well and are not attracting the customers they can not serve well. This training will sharpen your saw on the topic of collecting, creating, curating, engaging, and distributing the right stories and content for the growth of your business. Topics covered will include:

  • Where are they and the people that trust you
  • Social proof and secondary verification 
  • The customer’s journey to you
  • Capturing, Curating, and Creating content (SEO)
  • Your Story, Your origin story, Your customer’s story (Pixar and Hero’s Journey)

Module 3: Where Is The Best Place For You To Be Online – Web Meeting 

This 2 hr course held either online or in the 1st day afternoon. You can be everywhere online and you should be. You need to know the right platforms where your customers are and your business to be. Have priorities on where you distribute your content, as well as engage with your future and current clients. This is a survey class addressing the qualities, features, to-do, and what not to do on the key platforms. Topics covered will include:

  • Understanding the different platforms 
  • Specifics on how to reach and update on: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Clubhouse, Linkedin, Alignable and more.
  • Online Directories, including your Google Business Profile

Module 4  Web meeting – Having A Sustainable Marketing Plan in Action  

This is a 2 hr class. Are you setting yourself up to win over time with a sustainable marketing plan you can manage and maintain? You need to know what to track and what to change in this ever-changing world online. Learn how to gain more 5-star reviews and what to do with one-star reviews. Find out how to further develop the “voice” of your business and how to maintain it across all social media platforms you may use. Topics covered will include:

  • Sustainable Marketing over time 
  • Building your content feed. 
  • Distribution 
  • Tracking
  • Adjusting 
  • Reputation monitoring and responding – Positive and Negative reviews
  • Gaining more 5-star reviews and handling 1-star reviews.

Module 5 – Maximizing The Use Of Video & Photos To Gain More Business 

This is a 2 hr class. You have about 3 seconds to capture your customer’s attention. This training addresses how to grab their attention with compelling videos, photos, and directory updates to build and expand your business. We address how to optimize your YouTube video to get maximum results. You will understand how to add both photos and videos to your Google Business Profile in the right way. This Google Profile for your business is an often-overlooked component of marketing your business that can bring new customers, and it’s free! Topics covered will include:

  • Video, Photography, and Directories
  • Capturing Video, Audio – Tips in photography
  • YouTube and Google Business Profile

LIVE – Part 6 – Digital Ads, Email Marketing and Customer Retention

This final session will celebrate those who have completed the Digital Marketing Certificate series. Come enjoy refreshments and this interactive workshop. Now that you have a solid web game and are seeing good tracking in your online presence, what is next? We will cover the fundamentals of paid ads and how to start without losing your shirt. We also will include how to build up your ground game with the right Relationship Marketing strategy– that increases the enduring strength of sincere person-to-person connections. Topics covered will include:

  • Paid Ads
  • Facebook paid and Google ads 
  • Mastering attracting the customers you can serve the best and become unattractive to the ones you are not as effective with. Relationship Marketing (Possible copies of a book)
  • Graduation!

Final participants will receive an early edition copy of Martin Brossman and Pat Howlett’s book: Relationship Marketing, The Ground Game for Small Business Success
